What happened
Biostadt India Limited, a global biostimulant producer, has made its 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility in RAKEZ's Al Hulaila Industrial Zone operational, with the plant expected to reach full production capacity of roughly 5,000 kilolitres annually by July 2026.
The facility will manufacture EU-compliant biostimulant formulations for climate-resilient, chemical-free farming, serving customers across the MENA region as well as East and West Africa. It marks Biostadt's third international manufacturing expansion after the Philippines and Vietnam, and its first entry into the Middle East and Africa market — a move the company says leans on the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to streamline market access.
“RAKEZ's investor-friendly ecosystem is ideal for scaling our international operations,” said Biostadt CEO Huzefa Khorakiwala, pointing to the free zone's infrastructure and support in getting the plant running. RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad framed the investment in policy terms: “This strategic setup directly supports the UAE's national sustainability goals and global efforts to build resilient, climate-smart food systems.”
The plant is expected to create high-tech manufacturing jobs in Ras Al Khaimah and adds to a pattern of Indian agri-industrial investors using RAKEZ as a regional export base rather than a purely domestic UAE play — a distinction that matters for how the free zone pitches itself against other Gulf industrial hubs.
