Innovation City, the free zone formerly known as RAK Digital Assets Oasis, has now licensed more than 1,000 startups since its relaunch as what it calls the world's first AI-powered free zone. Qualifying founders can be licensed in as little as 2–3 days, a pace the zone positions squarely against slower-moving hubs elsewhere in the region.
The zone's five founding sectors — Web3 and digital assets, artificial intelligence, gaming and iGaming, robotics, and healthtech — carry over its origins as a digital-assets free zone while broadening the pitch to AI-native founders more generally. It now sits alongside RAKEZ's wider 40,000-company base as one of two entry points into RAK's free-zone ecosystem; our RAKEZ & business setup guide breaks down how the two relate.
