The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority and Huawei Mobile Services have signed a new memorandum of understanding at the Huawei Developer Conference 2026, extending a partnership that began in 2024. The agreement covers joint destination-content development, marketing campaigns and traveller-engagement initiatives delivered through Huawei's ecosystem — including Petal Maps, Huawei Themes and other HMS channels — with a stated focus on reaching Chinese outbound travellers through more personalised content and campaigns.
China remains one of the outbound markets RAK's tourism authority is actively courting as it works toward its 3.5 million-visitor target for 2030, and Huawei's HMS ecosystem gives RAKTDA a distribution channel that few Western platforms can match with Chinese travellers. Renewing the relationship as a formal MoU, rather than a one-off campaign, suggests RAKTDA is treating Huawei as a recurring line in its destination-marketing budget rather than a one-time experiment.
